Richmond Field Station Site Remediation

,

Since 2002, 4LEAF has provided the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley) with Construction Management and Engineering Support services for the on-going environmental remediation project at the Richmond Field Station (RFS) in Richmond, CA.  The RFS is undergoing a $25 million restoration project that is being performed over a multi-year period under the oversight of the RWQCB between 1999 and October 2006.  Regulatory oversight recently changed from the RWQCB to DTSC.  A portion of the project includes the characterization, cleanup, and restoration of the 8-acre Western Stege Marsh located adjacent to the San Francisco Bay.  Work in the marsh area is limited to the months of September to January due to the presence of the endangered California Clapper Rail.
