4LEAF was selected to support the County of Maui’s rebuilding and recovery efforts following the 2023 Maui Wildfires. In collaboration with County staff, 4LEAF helped establish and is currently assisting in the operation of the Recovery Permit Center (RPC), an on-site disaster recovery center dedicated to assisting residents rebuilding in the fire-affected areas of Lāhainā and Kula. The RPC serves as a vital resource, providing expedited plan review, permitting, and inspection services to help residents, contractors, and developers navigate the rebuilding process efficiently.
4LEAF has been instrumental in developing and managing the procedures that allow residents to fast-track the restoration of their properties, from permit intake through final inspection. The team operates out of both the Lāhainā Resource Center and the County of Maui Recovery Permit Center in Kahului. In addition to managing permitting and inspection workflows, 4LEAF oversees plan review for compliance with building and associated regulations and leads community outreach to keep residents informed throughout recovery. The RPC provides a comprehensive range of planning and building services, including Permit Processing, Plan Review, Inspection Services, Project Conditions and Staff Reports, Planning Services, Community Outreach, and Design Standard Development.
